Bamboo Grove Final Post

1. I thought the ending was very sad but happy, I thought that the ending really did satisfy me because we found out that he was alive and he made it, he found them and, I just thought that the way he found her was so unsuspecting but you also knew that it was coming at the same time. I thought that maybe if their they found there dad and Hideyo it wouldn't have been that happy. I think that the reason she chose to end it there is maybe becuase she thought that the way she found here brother was very nice, and iff she continued from there it wouldn't have gaven me that same reaction. Some of the conflicts that when on was that Yoko couln't get over how she was living in the beging, btu when Yoko saw what Ko was doing she made a very good dission to give up her pair of shoes nad all of her money to make it a special day for her sister.

2.I think that it's just like they took a little piece of home with them that kind of make them feel more at home. I think that maybe if you like go on trip and when you get to the airport, to a new place people do things differently than you do and its just kind of nice to have a piece of home with you. I think that maybe when time passes and you just adapt to where you live now you just look back into your stuff and find something that just is very special becuase it's from your home town.

3. I think that at the end of the book Yoko has become my favorite character becuase she started changing and inproving her self into seeing what really matters and what she should do to help out her sister in anyway she can. For example they way she reacted when she saw her sister work instead of going to school and right there she realized what she shoulf really be doing, helping out her sister. Another example is when she won the essay contest, and used the money for food and what she really needed for her and here sister.

4. I learned alot about Koreans and Japanese traditoins, like what they had said about Koreans carried their bags on there hips and Japanese carried their belongings on the backs. I think that another thin g that I learned was about the Refugee Camps weren't the most plesant place to be in. I also learned alot about how not all the people weren't exactly an there goverments sides.
I thinkn that maybe I would like to learn more about the difference between the Japenese and the Korean traditions.

5. I think that just what Yoko said says it " competed with life and death when young, and I won."
I think that it really just tells you that no matter what your dealing with in life, no matter how hard it gets never give up becuase your the one that is going to end up wining. I think that that really keeps people going not matter what or who is giving you a hard time, just keep going intell you have made it to where you need to be. That is what I learned about human nature and in live.
