OP #4 Bamboo Grove 1. Why do you think Yoko wants to help Mr. Naido? How and why does he help her? What do they have in common?
I think that the reason that she is helping Mr. Naido is becuase she does not know when or where in time she is going to need his help. I think that they both know how things are right know a he understands what is going on, and that could be one thing that they have in common.
2. Finding out about Ko's "idea" is a turning point for Yoko. Explain how this incident is a turning point for her. What does she realize at that moment? How does her attitude change?
I think that this has to be one of my favorite parts in the book because Yoko sees how much her sister cares and loves her. Yoko realizes that Ko did not want Yoko to worry about it and that is why she did not tell her, and when Yoko found out what her sister was doing for her, she started thinking about what she did in not wanting to do what she told her to do and realizing that her sister is only doing it because she loves her, and she would do anything to keep her safe and alive.

Do you think that now Yoko is going to do that with her money from know on, or do you think she is going to keep trying to save up for her shoes? I think that Yoko is going to forget about her shoes from now on, knowing that her sister is doing everything she can for Yoko and her, so I think that she is now going to help out with what need with the money that she makes.

1. I dont think that Yoko is waiting for someting in return from him, I just think that she is trying to give back because he helps her a lot and she feels she needs to return the favor.
2. Yeah, I agree bacause she really sees how her sister gives up a lot of her time getting money for-what is almost turned into-"her" family.
3. I think that she will try even harder to get more money, and set aside a little bit every now and then for her shoes, and sooner or later she will have enough money without it affecting their meals.
1. I agree that they don't know if they'll ever need eachothers help. I think they actually really like eachother.
2.I also agree that Ko will do anything for Yoko. She's a great sister and I wish I had one like her.
3.I think that Yoko doesn't really care about her shoes. I think she's more focused on being fed and staying warm.

1: I think that Yoko and Mr Nadio dont see thier freindship as a debt thing. I think they understand each other so they get along really well.
2: Yoko realizes now just how much her sister cares about her. Ko will do anything for Yoko and it really means a lot to her.
3: I think that food is more important than a new pair of shoes at his point, and who knows what will end up happening to Yokos money.
1) i agree with you about how she will never know what time in the future she will need mr.naido. i think that they have alot in common.
2)That was one of my favorite parts of the story too and i tottaly agree with you on how Ko didn't want Yoko to worry about her.
3)i think she will try extra hard to get more money then she has too for the shoes so she will have some spare change after.
